Welcome to Advent Season! Today is the 1st Sunday in Advent. You can make it a time of prayer and meditation, good works, bible reading or reading a spiritual book that you haven’t had a chance to read.
We can get caught up in the festivities of Christmas, whether its shopping, parties, etc., that we can forget the true meaning of Christmas, which is the celebration of the Birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ. God sent His Only Begotten Son Jesus to be born among us, to live like us humans, to suffer like us and to save us from sin. What a Saviour we have in Jesus! Let us prepare to celebrate His Birthday.
Here is the first set of meditations by Venerable Fulton Sheen –
LET CHRIST BE FORMED IN YOU
As God was physically formed in Mary, so he wills to be spiritually formed in you. If you knew he was seeing through your eyes, you would see in everyone a child of God. If you knew that he worked through your hands, they would bless all the day through. If you knew that He wants to use your mind, your will, your fingers, and your heart, how different you would be. If half the world did this, there would be no war!
HOW TO FIND CHRISTMAS PEACE
The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is His name. Luke 1:49
